The farm holiday Casaccia is a beautifully restored group of old farm buildings set in the hills of the upper Casentino with the River Arno (which has its origins in this valley) flowing below. The Family who own the farm holiday Casaccia Sig Borghini have lived and worked in the Casentino Valley for generations.

He and his family have carried out the work of renovating the original farm buildings into five luxury holiday apartments ensuring that they maintaining the traditional country style of the area and using the same materials as in the past, stone, wrought iron, and the chestnut wood used in abundance in the casentino valley.

Casaccia is still a working farm specialising in the growing and cultivation of walnuts, cherries and various other fruits and vegetables (most of which are available to the guests of Casaccia) as well as tuscan extra virgin olive oil and tuscan wine.

Within the grounds and buildings of casaccia you will find many reminders of the past for example the apartment La Tabaccaia, was used as a dryng room for the tobacco grown on the plains below the property, the original well is still in the grounds of the property, as is the stone wash basin where the wives and daughters of the owner of the farm did their washing.

Below the main farmhouse was a barn that housed the famous Chianina cattle famous in Tuscany.These fine animals were used to pull the ploughs in the fields. This space has now become a common room for socializing, reading, games, and is also an Internet Point. The wine cellar of La Casaccia is still used today for the local production of wine from the grapes grown on the property.

Casacia also has a great outdoor swimming pool with split levels in the main pool and an additional oval pool for those of you with small children and babies

There are five apartments at Casaccia, all are comfortably decorated with handmade wooden furniture and all the modern conveniences needed to have for you to enjoy a wonderful vacation: such as a fully equipped kitchen area with hob, cooker, fridge etc and, wood-burning fireplace, independent heating, Satellite TV and a spacious outdoor area for dining and relaxing. The Apartments have exposed chestnut beam ceilings and the beds are manufactured using from wrought iron.

From Casaccia you can enjoy wonderful views across to the medieval castles of Poppi and Romena set against the background of the National Park of the Casentino Forests that cover a large area from Monte Falterona to the famous Sanctuary of St. Francis at La Verna.
