Borgo Il Fio is set in the heart of Casentino valley near to the hilltop medieval town of Poppi. The casentino valley is one of the secret treasures of Tuscany set midway between Florence and Arezzo it is full of history with Castles, Romansque churches, small towns and villages to explore. The Casentino valley is where the River Arno finds its source.

Borgo Il Fio is at the end of a private track surrounded by open fields with wonderful panoramic views across to Poppi with its Castle dominating the sky line. Renovated in 2004 these apartments have been finished to the highest standards using traditional tuscan materials including chestnut beams and terracotta floors.

Those of you who decide to spend your holiday here at Borgo Il Fio will also be able to enjoy the grounds of the agriturismo (farm) which have been landscaped and laid to lawn with gazeboes, trees and a large swimming pool complete with terrace with sunbeds, chairs and Umbrellas. From the pool area you can enjoy views across the countryside.

All the apartments on this ancient farm have an individual style, furnished with tuscan pieces of furniture and cater for groups of 2 up to 8. It is ideal for families with plenty of space to play. Poppi just 2km away is well supplied with shops, Bars and Restaurants.

It is essential to have a car to really enjoy the Casentino valley with all its treasures. However Poppi has good public transport links with a privately run train line to Arezzo and a public bus service to the surrounding villages and even into Florence.

From Borgo Il Fio you can enjoy days out by car to Florence, Siena, San Giminano Arezzo, Cortona, Montalcino, Chiantishire and much more

If you wish a more active holiday we can organise Horse riding, Mountain biking tours, guided walks through the Casentino National Park, visits to wine cellars, cookery courses, Food and wine tasting evenings, we can even organise your wedding in the castle!

Our tuscany villas, farmhouse and accommodation are available for short term vacation rental or for longer stays, for groups of all sizes we can offer tuscan villas, farmhouses and apartments for 2 to 18 and more people. Rentals are normally Saturday to Saturday.
